Don Bosco Araimiri is the first house of the Salesians’ Mission in PNG. It is located in the west of Kerema town, under Kerema Catholic Diocese in the Gulf Province. It is about 400km from Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea, along the coast of Gulf Province.
Programs, Activities, Other Projects
The Salesians community of Don Bosco, Araimiri runs an agency and secondary school in partnership with the government of Papua New Guinea. The school serves the people in remotest areas of the Gulf province. This year there are total of 300 students, out of which 210 are boys and 90 are girls. All of the students are in the boarding facility. The boys are looked after by the priests, while the girls are taken care by the nuns.
