The Salesian Missionary Volunteering (SMV) in Uruguay, established in 1994, began with young people and a Salesian inspired by faith and service. They connected deeply with local communities, which led them to dream of reaching out to other cultures.
Since then, many young people have dedicated a year to serving those in need, both locally and in ad gentes missions abroad. Volunteers, aged 18 and over, live within Salesian communities, embracing prayer, spirituality, and teamwork.
With placements in countries like Nigeria, Argentina, and Ecuador, 56 volunteers have completed their service, embodying a strong Christian identity and Salesian values.
